Easilocks Easy-In Hairpiece

I discovered the Easilocks brand on Twitter at the end of 2013 after seeing it being mentioned by various celebrities, so I followed them on Twitter and began lusting after all the gorgeous hairpieces on their website wishing I could afford them! Then they held a competition to win one of their new Easi-In hairpieces as seen on the stars of The Only Way Is Essex. All you had to do was retweet their competition and I was picked as one of the lucky winners! I was over the moon! These are real remi human hair and cost £100 to buy on their website! I emailed them a photo of my hair and they coloured matched me to a medium brown.

This is what arrived in the post a few days later -

It comes in a nice zip lock pouch to protect the hair and includes a leaflet which advises you to watch the YouTube video on how to fit it.

The hairpiece is one weft with a lace cap and a clear string which fits round the top of your head -

The string is adjustable so can be made smaller/according to the size of your head.

You place the hairpiece against the crown/back of your head and place the clear string where a fringe would start near the front. You then get a tailcomb and begin to pull the top section of your hair out over the top of the hairpiece and over the clear string. If your hair is fine or thin (like mine!) you will probably need to do some back combing to hide the join of the hairpiece.

I couldn't really get the hang of doing this myself and I didn't think it felt very secure so I bought some hair extension clips and decided to sew a few onto the lace cap for a bit of extra security.

My friend, who is also a hair stylist, came round this week one night after work and I told her about this hairpiece and she said well let's have a go at fitting it now! So she backcombed my hair a bit first so the clips had something to grip on to and fitted the piece with ease! A bit of backcombing to hide the join and....there you have it! Long luscious locks! It felt really secure now and I would feel fine wearing this for a night out!

Here are the before and after photos (excuse my tired appearance, it has been a busy week at work! Haha!)

Before...

After...

I can't wait to wear this for a night out now! I've always wanted long, thick hair and I think I would feel amazing wearing this and being all dressed up! I think if I used a hair wand or my GHDs just to add a few waves or loose curls at the bottom it would blend in even better with my hair.

What do you think? Do you wear hairpieces or wigs for a night out? I'd love to know your thoughts/opinions!

Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan

Hi everyone!

Hope you've all had a lovely week! I've not posted anything this week so I'm going to make up for it today by doing a few posts! I've had quite a busy week at work and had a few plans in the evenings (including going to see James Arthur in concert on Wednesday which was amazing....such a great voice!), so I've not really had time to do any blogging this week! So, here goes...

Yesterday I decided to try the Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan for the first time!

I absolutely love having a tan and I usually use St. Tropez Mousse which never fails me but I've been hearing so many good things about Cocoa Brown and the fact that it's a 1 hour tan really appeals to me.

The first thing I noticed as I started to use the mousse was that it didn't have that awful biscuit-like fake tan smell, it has a sweet floral smell to it which is lovely and very subtle. This is a definite plus point for me!

The mousse glides on really easily with the mitt and it has a light brown colour to it so you can see which parts you have and haven't done.

I think the mousse dries really quickly (much quicker than my St. Tropez mousse) and it doesn't feel sticky either which is great.

The bottle states that you can leave the tan on for between 1 and 3 hours before washing it off. I decided to go for the halfway point and leave it on for 1 hour 30 minutes.

So I got in the shower, washed it all off, looked in the mirror, and.......I was disappointed! There was only a teeny tiny hint of a tan, nothing like I was expecting. BUT....it does say on the bottle that the tan does continue to develop over several hours after you have washed the mousse off. So I carried on with my plans for the day and I would say about 4 to 5 hours later I was starting to develop a nice golden glow.....yay! It does start to smell a bit fake tan like at this point I noticed, but nothing really strong.

All in all, I like this tan because it's really easy to apply, dries quickly, is non sticky and you don't have to leave it on overnight and wake up to that awful strong fake tan smell filling your room!

I think next time I will leave it on for the full 3 hours to see if the colour turns out deeper or develops quicker.

Here are the before and after photos (quality isn't great I'm afraid as they were taken on my iPhone and I can't get any good natural light in this awful weather!)

Before...

After (this was taken the day after application)...

So what do you think everyone? Have you used Cocoa Brown before? Let me know your thoughts!

Love! Want! Need!

Hi everyone!

Hope you're having a lovely weekend so far!

I thought I would do a regular post every few weeks called 'Love, Want, Need' telling you what I'm loving at the moment, what I want and what I need....simples!

So, here goes......

Love!
Today I'm loving my pretty toes! If you read my last post you'll know I treated myself to a lovely pedicure yesterday at my local beauty salon.....over an hour of fabulous pampering - heaven! I love going there for beauty treatments, I've been a client for about 10 years now and it's great having a coffee and a gossip with the girls when I go in! I was also the first person to try their new geranium scented foot spa oil which smelt amazing......I'll definitely be asking for that again next time! I decided to go for french polish on my toes rather than colour as I just think it looks so fresh and pretty. Here are the results....what do you think?x

Want!
So at the minute I really really want to get some new make up! I've not bought myself anything new for quite a while now, and whilst having a big clear out over Christmas I had to throw loads of make up away as I wasn't sure how long I'd had it for (Eeek! Major sin I know!), so I think I'm going to take a trip to House of Fraser in Manchester in the next couple of weeks and visit the MAC counter to buy lots of new make up goodies! Watch this space for a post about that! Here's a sneaky peak of my make up bag at the moment.....

Need!
I desperately need to drink more water! I'm terrible....sometimes I can go a whole day at work and realise I've only had 2 glasses...oops! I just find it hard to remember to get a drink of water when I'm so busy and concentrating on work, but I must make more of an effort as I know it will have a positive effect on my skin and general well being. So I will give myself a slap on the wrist for that one!

So that's my first 'Love, Want, Need' post done! What do you think? What do you love, want or need at the moment?

A Lucky January!

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all having a fabulous Friday! I'm soooooo glad it's the weekend, this week in work has dragged!!

I've been a very lucky girl in January so far and have won a few competitions.....woohoo! So I thought I'd post about them here!

I won some lovely Pamela Mann tights and ankle socks, a £15 iTunes voucher and a Burt's Bees pamper package! There are some really lovely goodies here...I feel very lucky and grateful!

I've used Burt's Bees lip balm before but haven't used any of their body products so I'm looking forward to trying them and sharing my thoughts with you guys on here! Have you tried them before?

I'm treating myself to a lovely pedicure tomorrow morning - my size 4's haven't had any TLC in a while so hopefully they'll be all pretty again tomorrow! Haha! Can't wait, I love being pampered! Unsure whether to go for coloured polish or french.......hmmm decisions, decisions!

What are your plans for this weekend? Hope you have a good one!

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish

Hi, ooooh two posts in one day, I am spoiling you! ;-)

I decided to write my first beauty product review on the award winning Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser as I've been using it every day for about 6 months now and I love it. I'd never even heard of the brand until a friend told me about it last year and unless you've got a John Lewis near you then you'll only be able to get hold of it by ordering from the Liz Earle website or from eBay.

The Liz Earle brand was founded in 1995 after Liz Earle and Kim Buckland wanted to "develop a product range that really worked, was pampering yet affordable, simple to use and for everyone - no matter what their age or skin type. They were determined to use the best possible naturally active ingredients, which inspired the name Naturally Active Skincare".

My first purchase was from the Liz Earle counter at John Lewis in the Trafford Centre. I bought the starter kit which includes a 100ml pump tube of the cleanser and a packet of 2 muslin cloths in a nice little bag. This costs £14.75.

There are two stages to the cleansing routine:

Stage 1 - Cleansing

Use one 'pump' of the cleanser and gently run into the skin all over the face and neck. There is no need to remove any make up beforehand but I like to take off my eye make up with baby lotion and a cotton pad first. Leave to soak in for about 15 seconds then move on to...

Stage 2 - Polishing

Take one of the muslin cloths and rinse it in hand-hot water. You then gently wipe the cloth over your face and neck in small circular motions, rinse the cloth and repeat until all traces of make up are removed. Rinse out the cloth and leave to air dry. And there you have it!

As I say, I've been using this for about 6 months now and I don't think I would use anything else now. It's suitable for all ages and skin types so I'll still be able to use it as my skin changes with age.

I love the fact that my skin feels so clean and fresh after cleansing with this as it really does remove all traces of dirt and make up. I also think it smells amazing!

Have you ever tried the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish or any other Liz Earle products? Or have you found the perfect cleanser? Get in touch and let me know!

Outfit of the Day!

Hello! Me again!

I thought I'd post my 'Outfit of the Day' that I wore on Saturday as it's my favourite outfit at the minute. (Please ignore the bare mattress on the right, I'd been doing the housework earlier on & had put the sheets/duvet in the wash, haha!)

Black fluffy jumper  -  Topshop
Tartan skirt  -  New Look
Black tights  -  Primark
Boots  -  Dune
Bag  -  River Island
Necklace  -  Dorothy Perkins

I love my new bag from River Island and my hubby actually bought it me for Christmas.....and picked it himself! I think he did well, don't you? Here's a better photo of it:

I wore this to take my Mother-in-Law out for afternoon tea. Here's what we had! It was delicious!!!

What's your favourite outfit at the moment? Are you loving a bit of tartan like I am?

My First Post!

My first post......eeek! I'm excited at starting out in the big wide world of blogging! I've never done anything like this before but I figured with the New Year, resolutions and all that malarkey I would make 2014 the year I try new things! So...here I am writing my first post!

I got the idea after venturing out into the world of Twitter over the last couple of months, I've met some really lovely and inspiring people who've made me realise that you really can do anything if you put your mind to it......people who have overcome huge struggles in life and people that have started their own business from their own little ideas that have grown to become hugely successful! They've been my inspiration to start this little blog!

I suppose I should start by telling you all a little but about myself (don't worry, I'll keep it short so I don't bore you!)......

I'm Michelle, 29 years old from Manchester. I've been married to my lovely hubby for 5 years and we've been together for 10. We have a dog, Lucy, a Bichon Frise who is more high maintenance than Lady Gaga and is probably more human-like (is that even a word?) than any dog I've ever known but she's so cheeky and cute that you can't help but fall in love with her! I work for a successful law firm in South Manchester and have been there for nearly 10 years now. I love buying new make up, trying new beauty products and shopping for clothes and shoes (although shopping for shoes can be a nightmare as I seem to have really awkward feet...does anyone else have this problem or is it just me?!)

I'll keep it short and sweet for my first post as you'll get to know me a bit better the more I update my blog! I'm planning on posting some reviews on some of my favourite beauty buys in the next couple of weeks so hope you continue reading!

Thanks!
